The Lingerie Football League began a few years ago as half time entertainment for American Football fans. Pairing the american love of women and sport, in frankly blatant, crass and borderline sexist fashion, it is essentially hot models playing american football in lingerie.

Now lingerie football has a chance to be the most successful professional women’s “sport” from a business perspective. According to the Lingerie Football Leagues founder Mitchell Mortaza, three cable networks are interested in broadcasting the games next season. ESPN has already broadcast some highlights of the game and overall, the league is averaging anywhere from 4-6,000 fans. Mortaza said he wants these athletes to be taken seriously and that the LFL is not exploiting women.

“The women are comfortable once they understand how they’re positioned as athletes. We don’t see it being an issue. It’s a brand message that has been successful,”
